CONGRATULATIONS BLAKE YARBRO! Blake Yarbro achieved All State honors by placing 2nd in the Shot Put at the State Track & Field Meet in Jefferson City on May 18th with a PR throw of 15.88m (52-1). It is the furthest throw in the Shot Put for a Chaffee athlete at State since Eric Glastetter set the school record in 1985. Congratulations Blake!

Ayné Held achieved ALL STATE honors on May 17th by placing 3rd in the javelin at the State Meet in Jefferson City with a throw of 38.28m (125-7). Carlyanne Cossou placed 9th in the 300 meter hurdles, missing all state status by one place with a time of 48.46 (PR). Madison Pobst placed 14th in the shot put with a distance of 9.74m (31-11). Carlyanne Cossou placed 15th in the high jump clearing 1.40m (4-7). Carlyanne Cossou qualified for the finals in the 100 meter hurdles by placing 5th overall in the prelims with a time of 15.62 (PR). GRADUATION CEREMONY (MAY 16, 2024) -- The 2024 CHS Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, at 7:00 pm in the Chaffee High School Gymnasium. Gym doors will open at 6:00 pm. Each graduate will be given four (4) tickets allowing guests to sit in the floor area. The gym bleachers will be available and open to other family members, friends, and the public.

SENIOR GRADUATION REMINDERS FOR MAY 16 – (SENIOR BREAKFAST, SENIOR VIDEO, GRADUATION PRACTICE, GRADUATION TICKETS, GRADUATION PICTURES, GRADUATION LINE UP) -- Seniors should arrive at school on Thursday, May 16, at normal school time (8:00 a.m.) and go to Activity Center for the Senior Breakfast & Video. After the Senior Breakfast and Video, Seniors will proceed to high school gym for Graduation practice. (Graduation practice is MANDATORY – if you do not attend Graduation practice, you will not be allowed to participate at graduation). Senior final transcripts form will be completed. Picture forms will be distributed. Floor seating tickets for Graduation will be distributed. All Seniors should pay fees/fines & turn in Chromebooks, library books, and textbooks. Seniors should send all Google Documents & Emails to your personal accounts (the "chaffee" accounts will be closed). Please arrive at the High School Activity Center by 5:30 pm for Graduation. Individual and group graduation pictures will be taken by Cheekwood before Graduation, and Seniors will then be lined up for Graduation. The Graduation Ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm in the High School Gym. Gym doors will open to family, friends, and the public at 6:00 pm.

REMINDER – FINALS (GRADES 7-11) ON MAY 15-16 -- Underclassmen (Grades 7-11) finals are scheduled as follows: Wednesday, May 15th – 5th, 6th and 7th Periods; Thursday, May 16th – 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Periods. No finals will be given early! If students are unable to take finals on the specific dates, they are responsible for scheduling a time to take them with the teacher upon returning.
REMINDER – KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION IS MAY 14 -- Kindergarten Graduation is on Tuesday, May 14, at 6:00 pm at CES. We invite you to celebrate the graduating Class of 2036! You are welcome to bring family and friends to help celebrate! Students ONLY will report to their classroom at 5:30 pm where they will get dressed in their cap and gown. Their teachers will have their cap and gown waiting for them in their classroom. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm. After graduation, students will go to the risers for pictures. You can pick your child up from that location. Please pick up your child’s memory box from their class table after graduation is over.
REMINDER -- 6TH GRADE FIELD TRIP (TUESDAY, MAY 14) -- The 6th Grade Field Trip will be on Tuesday, May 14, at Ultimate Air Cape Girardeau / Cape County Park. Information for Trip: ~Students should wear comfortable clothes (preferably Chaffee red and black shirts) and tennis shoes. ~Students should NOT bring phones or other electronic devices on the trip. ~The bus will leave school at 8:45 am. ~No money is required unless students want money for extra concessions at Ultimate Air. ~Lunch (pizza) will be provided by Chaffee Parent Group. ~The bus will return to school at approximately 2:00 pm. ~ Water bottle donations are appreciated.
REMINDER – CES TALENT SHOW -- The CES Talent Show is today (Monday, May 13) at 1:00 p.m. in the Elementary Gym. Students in 2nd-6th grades will be performing. Acts will include gymnastics, comedy, singing, and other talents. Parents are welcome to attend.
