CHS ATHLETIC BANQUET -- This year’s CHS Athletic Banquet will be for ALL High School Sports on Wednesday, May 21st, at 6:00 pm in the High School Activity Center. There will be a meal and award presentations for each sport. The Mark Whitaker Senior Male Student Athlete Award and the Female Senior Student Athlete Award will also be presented. The meal is free for all athletes and coaches. The meal cost is $10 for guests. Children 8 and under are free. The meal will be a Taco Bar.
SUMMER SCHOOL -- Summer School (Grades K-12) will be from Wednesday, May 21st, to Thursday, June 12th, from 7:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m. Classes will not be held on Monday, May 26th, for the Memorial Day holiday. All classes (K-12) will be at the High School. Breakfast and Lunch will be served and is free for anyone 18 and under.
UPDATED DISTRICT BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME -- The High School Baseball Class 2 District 3 Championship Game will be on Wednesday, May 21st. The Chaffee Red Devils will play the Bloomfield Wildcats at 1:30 pm at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau. Admission is $6.00 (cash). Good Luck Red Devils!!

CONGRATULATIONS CHAFFEE TRACK & FIELD STATE QUALIFIERS! Chaffee participated at the Track and Field Class 2 Sectional 1 Meet on Saturday, May 17, at Grandview High School. Congratulations to the following Chaffee athletes who qualified for the Missouri High School State Track & Field Meet in Jefferson City on May 23-24.
Carlyanne Cossou – Carlyanne qualified for the Missouri High School State Track & Field Meet in 4 events at the Class 2 Sectional 1 Meet. She was Sectional Champion in the 100m Hurdles (15.36) and Triple Jump with a PR jump of 11.27m (36ft 11.7in). She also placed 2nd in the 300m Hurdles (44.88) and 3rd in the 200m (26.41). Carlyanne will participate in the State Track & Field Meet on Friday and Saturday (May 23-24).
Carson Clover – Carson placed 3rd in the Shot Put at the Class 2 Sectional 1 Track Meet. He had a huge PR throw of 14.14m (46.39 feet). Carson will participate in the State Track & Field Meet on Friday, May 23rd, at 10:00 a.m.
Ty Atkins – Ty placed 4th in the Javelin at the Class 2 Sectional 1 Track and Field Meet. His best throw was 45.72m (150 ft) which is a PR and a new school record (previously held by Blake Yarbro). He will compete in the State Track & Field Meet at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23rd.

All seniors will receive six (6) floor seating tickets for parents, guardians or relatives. You must have a ticket to sit in the chairs on the gym floor. All other guests will be able to sit in the bleacher seating areas. Seniors need to arrive at the activity center no later than 5:30 pm for individual and group pictures by Cheekwood Studios. Picture packets have been available from the front offices and will be available this evening. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

SENIOR GRADUATION REMINDERS FOR MAY 15, 2025 -- Senior Breakfast, Senior Video, and Graduation Practice ~ Seniors should arrive at school on Thursday, May 15, at 8:00 a.m. for the Senior Breakfast & Video. ~ After the Senior Breakfast and Video, Graduation practice will follow. (Graduation practice is mandatory -- if Seniors do not attend Graduation practice, they will not be allowed to participate at Graduation).
~ Picture forms will be distributed. ~ All Seniors should pay fees/fines & turn in Chromebooks, library books, and textbooks if they haven’t already done so. Graduation Pictures, Line Up, and Graduation Ceremony ~ Seniors should arrive at the High School Activity Center by 5:30 pm for Graduation. ~ Individual and group graduation pictures will be taken before Graduation, and Seniors will then be lined up for Graduation. ~ Graduation will take place on the high school football field. No tickets will be required to attend. Entry gates for family, friends, and the public will be opened at 6:15 pm.
~The Graduation Ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm.

Finals for Grades 7-11 are scheduled for May 15th and 16th at the following times: Thursday, May 15: 1st period, 3rd period, 5th period, 7th period. Friday, May 16th (early release schedule): 2nd period – will be given during 1st period; 4th period – will be given during 3rd & 5th period; 6th period – will be given during 7th period.
BASEBALL GAME CANCELLED MAY 12 -- The high school baseball game scheduled for this afternoon (5/12/25) against Saxony has been cancelled due to wet playing conditions.
CONGRATULATIONS CHAFFEE TRACK AND FIELD SECTIONAL QUALIFIERS -- Chaffee participated at the Track and Field Class 2 District 1 Meet on Saturday, May 10, at Scott City High School. Congratulations to all of our track and field athletes during their 2025 season. Congratulations to the following athletes who qualified for the Class 2 Sectional 1 Track Meet at Grandview (Hillsboro) on Saturday, May 17. CARLYANNE COSSOU was a 4 time District Champion at the District Track & Field Meet in the following events - 100m Hurdles (15.99), 300m Hurdles (46.96), 200 meters (26.43), and Triple Jump (10.87m./35-8.00). MAKENNA NIXON placed 2nd in the High Jump with a jump of 1.35m (4-5.25) at the District Track & Field Meet. TY ATKINS placed 4th in the Javelin with a PR throw of 43.46m (142-3.00) at Districts. PEYTON PENROSE placed 4th in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 18.52 at the District Meet. CARSON CLOVER placed 4th in the Shot Put with a throw of 13.79m (45-3.00) at Districts. Outstanding Job to all of these track and field athletes and Good Luck at Sectionals on Saturday!
