JUNIOR HIGH BOYS SCOTT MISSISSIPPI CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT -- The Junior High Boys Basketball Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament will begin on Saturday, November 15th, at Chaffee. Chaffee 8th Grade Red Devils will play Kelly at 9:00 a.m. Chaffee 7th Grade Red Devils will play Scott County Central at 10:15 a.m. There are five other games that follow our games on Saturday. CROSS COUNTRY DISTRICT RESULTS -- Peyton Penrose finished her Cross Country season on Saturday, November 1st, at Arcadia Valley in the Class 2 District 1 meet. She finished in 62nd place (91 total runners) with a season and career PR time of 26:06. Her previous best was 27:10. Great job Peyton!

CHAFFEE HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR CITIZEN THANKSGIVING DINNER ON NOVEMBER 13 -- The annual Chaffee High School Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner will be on Thursday, November 13, in the High School Activity Center. Tickets are available from the High School office or the Chaffee Nutrition Center. Dinner will be served at 5:00 p.m. with carry outs beginning at 5:30 p.m. The dinner is free to all Chaffee Senior Citizens. Everyone attending must have a ticket to receive a meal.

VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLY ON NOVEMBER 11 -- The annual Veterans Day Assembly will take place on Tuesday, November 11th, at 9:00 a.m. in the Chaffee High School gym. We would love to have all Veterans join us for breakfast from 8:00-8:45 a.m. on November 11th and then for our Veterans Day Assembly at 9:00 a.m. Both St. Ambrose and Chaffee Elementary (grades 3-6) will join us. The community is also invited to join us for the assembly at 9:00 a.m.

REMINDER -- POWDER PUFF, SENIOR MOMS TACKLE, AND MY JERSEY–YOUR IMPACT ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH!! The Powder Puff Football Game, Senior Moms Tackle, and My Jersey-Your Impact will be on Wednesday, November 5th, on the Chaffee High School Mark Whitaker Memorial football field. Senior Moms Tackle will be at 7:00 p.m., followed by My Jersey-Your Impact, and the evening will conclude with the Powder Puff game between the Junior and Senior girls. Admission is $1.00, and all proceeds go to Special Olympics. Any girls who are planning on playing in the Powder Puff game, please make sure you have a jersey. See Mrs. Swinford if you need one.

CHAFFEE R-2 SCHOOL DISTRICT PRESS RELEASE -- Emily Koenig has been employed as the new superintendent for the Chaffee R-II School District starting the 2026-2027 school year. Emily is currently employed as the principal of Perryville Primary Center for the Perry County School District #32. Emily has been employed in that district since 2000 as an elementary teacher, assistant high school principal and elementary principal. The Chaffee R-II Board interviewed three qualified candidates and chose Emily for the position. According to Board President, Steve Seyer, “Emily had the qualifications and skill set that we were looking for in a new superintendent. We look forward to her continuing to lead Chaffee R-II in a positive direction.” Emily shared that she is looking forward to joining the Chaffee R-II School District. She stated, “Dr. Nix and I are already working on a plan to collaborate and make the transition to the next school year as smooth and seamless as possible. I am excited to be a part of and lead the continued progress Dr. Nix established for the staff, students and families in Chaffee.“ Mrs. Koenig will assume her new role on July 1, 2026.
