LADY DEVILS DISTRICT BASKETBALL UPDATE – DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ON FEBRUARY 27
Lady Devils picked up the win against Greenville on Wednesday night (2/25/2026) with a score of 69-63.
This was Season Win Number 20!
The Lady Devils advance to the DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME on Friday, February 27, at 6:00 pm and will take on the Malden Lady Green Wave.
Let’s pack the stands in Neelyville and cheer these Lady Devils on to a District Championship!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS – CHS SCIENCE SHOWCASE – SUNDAY, MARCH 1
The CHS Science Showcase will take place on Sunday, March 1st, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the High School Activity Center. This is open to the public. Please come and join us to see what our science students have been working on.
BLOOD DRIVE - REMINDER - WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25
Chaffee High School will be hosting a Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 25th, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. in the High School Activity Center.
Students who are interested in giving blood should schedule an appointment with Mr. Westrich or on the Red Cross App.
The community can schedule an appointment at RedCrossBlood.org or on the Red Cross App or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Walk-ins are welcome if appointments are available.
All units collected will help to save lives and help Chaffee High School students earn scholarships.

REMINDER FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 10, 11, AND 12 – ASVAB TESTING – MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23
Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 will be taking the ASVAB test on Monday, February 23rd, at 8:30 a.m.
All students should have their Chromebooks charged and ready to go for the ASVAB test!
** A+ Students – Students who are in the A+ Tutoring Program will stay at the high school in the morning to take the test. You will NOT go to the elementary. The test should be completed by approximately 11:00 a.m., and A+ students will be able to go to their A+ Tutoring classes in the afternoon.

Congratulations to Nolan Fowler for reaching 1,000 Career Points! Nolan achieved this milestone on February 17, 2026, at Delta in the 3rd Quarter and was recognized at our last home game for this accomplishment.

CONGRATULATIONS CHAFFEE RED DEVILS BOYS’ BASKETBALL - 20 SEASON WINS!
Chaffee Red Devil Boys Basketball picked up WIN NUMBER 20 of the season on Friday, February 20, 2026.
This is a feat that has not been accomplished since the 1978-79 team went 20-8 and lost in the state sectionals – 47 years ago!
Thank you, Red Devils, for an unforgettable season and for making our school and community proud!

PRE-KINDERGARTEN / KINDERGARTEN SCREENING FOR STUDENTS IN THE CHAFFEE R-II SCHOOL DISTRICT ON MARCH 26 AND MARCH 27
The Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten Screening for students in the Chaffee R-II School District will be on Thursday, March 26th and Friday, March 27th.
The screening will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Chaffee ~ 301 N. 3rd (in the basement of the church).
Children turning 4 on or before July 31, 2026 should be screened for entry into Pre-Kindergarten and children turning 5 on or before July 31, 2026 should be screened for entry into Kindergarten.
Please contact Chaffee Elementary at 887-3244 to schedule an appointment.
Please bring your child along with his/her birth certificate, shot record, and proof of residency to screening. Screening takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Thursday, February 19, 2026, marks the final home basketball game for Coach Calkins as the longtime Voice of the Lady Devils and Red Devils Basketball.
Coach Calkins has been a cornerstone of the Chaffee High School athletic experience, providing the commentary and soundtrack to countless memories for players, parents, students, and fans.
Thank you, Coach Calkins, for your years of dedication to the Lady Devils and Red Devils. You’ve given our games a heartbeat, and while this may be your final basketball game behind the mic, your legacy in Chaffee athletics will be heard for years to come. The Red Devil family is forever grateful for the spirit you brought to every game!
Our Pep Club theme will be "Calkins". Let's show him our appreciation for his dedication to our school and dress up as him.
PEP BAND SENIOR RECOGNITION NIGHT ON FEBRUARY 19 - CHS Pep Band Senior Recognition Night is Thursday, February 19, before the Lady Devils Basketball game at 6:00 p.m. Come out and help celebrate our Senior Pep Band members and their accomplishments. 2ND QUARTER HONOR ROLL PARTY ON FEBRUARY 19
The Second Quarter Honor Roll Party will take place during lunch on Thursday, February 19.
The Honor Roll lunch will consist of fried chicken, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, Mac and Cheese, corn or green beans, salad, rolls, dessert, and a drink.
Students must have made all A's and B's to be on the Honor Roll. The 2nd Quarter Honor Roll lists are posted in the hallway and activity center. Please see Mrs. Swinford if you have any questions.

PAJAMA / HAT DAY ON FEBRUARY 18 AT JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL
Chaffee Junior/Senior High School is supporting the Scott City Rams Family with a Pajama/Hat Day on Wednesday, February 18.
Junior/Senior High School students can wear pajamas or a hat for $1.00 or wear BOTH for $2.00.
When you pay to wear pajamas or a hat, you will be entered to win a prize basket full of goodies. Every $1.00 gets you an extra entry for the prize basket.
You cannot wear a hat or pajamas that day unless you pay.
All proceeds will go to the Family of Trey Simmons. Please keep the Scott City community in your thoughts and prayers.

On February 11, 2026, with a victory over Senath-Hornersville, CHS Red Devils Coach Josh Govreau achieved a major milestone in his coaching career - his 200th career victory. Coach Govreau has led the Chaffee Red Devils for 18 years providing a level of stability, commitment, and dedication to our basketball program that is truly rare. His impact reaches far beyond the final score on a scoreboard. Coach Govreau is a dedicated teacher and role model, not just for the athletes who have worn the Red Devil jersey, but for every student who walks the halls of CHS. He defines what it means to be a leader through his character.
Thank You Coach Govreau for your nearly two decades of commitment to our athletes and for bringing a steady leadership and a winning culture to Chaffee Basketball. Congrats Coach Govreau on 200 career victories!
