DISTRICT FOOTBALL GAME – FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH -- The Chaffee Red Devils will play the Charleston Blue Jays in a District Football Contest on Friday, November 8th (at Charleston) at 7:00 pm. Admission is $6. Chaffee fans will sit on the east side of the bleachers. No bags will be allowed unless they are smaller than a 3x5 index card. Chairs are allowed but will be checked. UPDATE!! CANCELLED -- CHAFFEE COMMUNITY CARE PORTAL FALL CARNIVAL – After much discussion, the Chaffee Community Care Portal has made the difficult decision to cancel the Fall Carnival scheduled for this Saturday, November 9th, due to the incoming weather forecast. Please understand that this was not a decision that was made lightly and many alternate options were explored, but it was felt that it is best for the sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and community to make the announcement now instead of trying to wait it out. **The Community Care Portal WILL continue with the Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt. Friday, November 8th, is the final day for the Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt and arrangements will be made for the kids to pick up their prizes. The Community Care Portal will also have cakes from the cake walk that will now be available for purchase for anyone interested. Please continue to watch the Chaffee Community Care Portal page for additional details to pick up scavenger hunt prizes and how to purchase cakes. CONGRATULATIONS ALL DISTRICT BAND! Select members of the Chaffee Jr High Band, Chaffee High School Band, and Chaffee HS Jazz Band traveled to Jackson High School on Tuesday, November 5th, to audition for their respective All-District Bands. Over 450 students from all over Southeast Missouri were registered for this event, and we are very proud of our Chaffee Red Devils selected: High School All-District Band -- Eve O'Neal - 1st Chair Trumpet; Jacob Myers - 5th Chair Baritone; Keira Biggs - 18th Chair Clarinet. Junior High All-District Band -- Brandon Turner - 13th Chair Clarinet; Annabelle Goodholm - 17th Chair Clarinet. All-District Jazz Band -- Jackson Allen - Bass Guitar. Congratulations to these talented musicians!
VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION AT CHAFFEE HIGH SCHOOL ON NOVEMBER 11 -- Chaffee High School Student Council would like to invite all veterans and community members to join us Monday, November 11th, for our Veterans Day Celebration at 9:30 a.m. Veterans are also invited to a breakfast from 8:30-9:15 a.m. at the high school. The Veterans Day Assembly will be led by CHS Student Council Officers. The Guest Speaker is United States Army Sergeant Kade Sullivan. Music will be by our High School Band, High School Choir, and the 3rd and 4th Grade Choir. We will also be joined by St. Ambrose School and grades 3-6 from Chaffee Elementary.
PJ FRIDAY AT JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL SPONSORED BY SENIOR BETA CLUB ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8 (PROCEEDS TO ALZHEIMER’S FOUNDATION) -- November is Alzheimer's Awareness month. The Senior Beta Club is hosting Pajama Day every Friday at the Jr/Sr High School during the month of November to raise money for the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. The first Pajama Day will be Friday, November 8th. For $1.00, students can wear their favorite pair of pajamas. Beta members will be at each door with stickers to show you have paid.
ANNUAL SENIOR CITIZEN THANKSGIVING DINNER (SPONSORED BY FBLA & FCCLA) ON NOVEMBER 14TH! The annual FBLA/FCCLA Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thursday, November 14, in the High School Activity Center. The Dinner is at 5:00 pm with carryouts beginning at 5:30 pm. Tickets are available from the High School Office or the Chaffee Nutrition Center. Dinner is FREE to all Chaffee Senior Citizens. Everyone attending must have a ticket to receive a meal. MARK YOUR CALENDARS -- 4TH ANNUAL FALL CARNIVAL WILL BE ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9 -- The Annual Fall Carnival will be on Saturday, November 9th, from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Frisco Park in Chaffee. This is organized by the Chaffee Community Care Portal with participation of volunteers from local organizations. There will be Carnival Games, a Cake Walk, a Hayride, and other activities. Tickets will be sold at the event ($1 per ticket) with proceeds going to each individual game/activity sponsor. Chaffee Farmers Market Vendors will also be there so please take advantage of the extra opportunity to do some shopping. Concessions will be available for purchase (proceeds to Chaffee Community Care Portal). There will also be a Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt on November 4th-8th. Five (5) plastic pumpkins will be hidden in town each day on November 4th-8th (total of 25 pumpkins). Find a pumpkin and bring it to the Carnival to claim a prize. Please limit it to one per child.
