REMINDER – DRUMLINE CAMP will be July 29 (Monday) through August 2 (Friday) from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. BAND CAMP will be August 5 (Monday) through August 9 (Friday) from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. There will be a break for lunch at 12:00 pm every day. Students may bring their own lunch or leave campus for lunch. Band members -- please remember to bring everything needed for your instrument, music flip-folder, water, sun-protective headgear, comfortable/cool clothing, and appropriate footwear for marching. Time will be split between outside practice and inside music rehearsal.

Chaffee School District Enrollment Day for both the Elementary and Jr/Sr High School is TODAY (July 24, 2024) from 7:00 am-7:00 pm in the High School Gymnasium. Individual student enrollment packets (Elementary and Junior/Senior High School) were mailed out in early July, and parents/guardians are asked to complete all of the information on each form and return everything during the District Enrollment Day!
Just a few reminders:
~This is for parents and students (both returning and new students).
~Parents should fill out all forms prior to coming to the enrollment day and bring the completed forms with them.
~Individual student school pictures and staff pictures will be taken by Cheekwood Studios.
~Picture packets will be available (they were also mailed out with student packets). ~Parents/students should be prepared to pay all remaining outstanding balances from the 2023-24 school year.
~Scott County Health Department will be available for students who need immunizations.
~Chromebook insurance will be available for $25.00 for students in grades 3-12 and can be paid at enrollment day (Pre-K through 2nd grade do not need Chromebook insurance).
~Individual sports schedules will be available.
~Sports passes will be available for purchase.
Also, any student who is NEW to the district this year can enroll and have their picture taken at District Enrollment Day. Students who are NEW to the district will need to bring proof of residency, birth certificate, and shot records.

FOOTBALL REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 22-25 -- High School Football Camp is from 8:00-10:00 a.m. and Junior High Football Camp (6th, 7th, 8th Grade) is from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. for the week of July 22-25 (Monday-Thursday). RED DEVILS ELEMENTARY (GRADES 3-5) FOOTBALL CAMP JULY 15-18 -- The Chaffee Red Devils will be hosting a FREE elementary school football camp (for Grades 3-5) on Monday, July 15th through Thursday, July 18th from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm (noon) at Chaffee High School. The camp is instructed by the high school coaches and football players.
REMINDER – BLOOD DRIVE TODAY!! Chaffee Beta Club has teamed up with The American Red Cross for a blood drive on Monday, July 8, from 1:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. in the High School Activity Center. You can make an appointment by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter ChaffeeHS to schedule an appointment. Donors will receive a St. Louis Cardinals T-shirt! SUMMER WEIGHTS (STRENGTH & CONDITIONING) REMINDER FOR JULY 1-2, 2024 -- Reminder that there will only be 2 days of summer weights with our annual combine this week (Monday and Tuesday -- July 1-2). We will be off July 3-7 and start back up on Monday, July 8.
The board of education has set the timeline for potential board candidates due to an opening of a board seat. Potential candidates need to send a short biographical introduction and why they would like to serve as a board member. These will be due no later than August 1, 2024 to the Chaffee R-2 Central Office. Board members will interview candidates before the next board meeting (August 13, 2024) with installation at the September board meeting.

MISSOURI SUN BUCKS PROGRAM - Helping Families Access Food During the Summer - Missouri is currently waiting on federal approval for a new program called “Missouri Sun Bucks” designed to help families buy food and groceries for their school-aged children during the summer. Eligible families would receive a one-time $120 benefit per qualifying child on an EBT card to buy food from authorized locations. At this time, Missouri Sun Bucks is pending approval. However, parents should start preparing for when the program launches.
