May 1 (Wednesday): 7th Grade LA MAP, 8th Grade LA MAP, LA 2 EOC. May 3 (Friday): 7th Grade Math MAP, 8th Grade Math MAP. May 6 (Monday): 7th Grade Math MAP, 8th Grade Math MAP, Biology EOC, Government EOC. May 7 (Tuesday): 8th Grade Science MAP, Algebra I EOC. May 8 (Wednesday): 8th Grade Science MAP, Algebra I EOC. Here are just a few student reminders for MAP and EOC testing: (1) Get a good night’s sleep. (2) Eat breakfast. (3) Arrive to school on time. (4) Make sure you bring your Chromebook to school EVERY day and make sure that they are FULLY charged. Please see Ms. Mossman ASAP if you need to purchase a new charger ($10.00). (5) Try to schedule all outside appointments around testing times.


MARK YOUR CALENDARS -- BLOOD DRIVE SPONSORED BY BETA CLUB AND FBLA ON TUESDAY, APRIL 30 (FROM 10 AM – 2 PM IN THE HS GYM)! Beta Club and FBLA will be hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, April 30, from 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. in the High School Gym Lobby. Students who would like to donate should schedule their appointment with Mr. Westrich. The community can call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org to schedule an appointment or just walk in if appointments are available. All units collected will help to save lives! Also, CHS is able to award scholarships to seniors based on the number of donations given. All donors are greatly appreciated!


CONGRATULATIONS COLIN MENZ!! Congratulations to Colin Menz for earning a Gold Medal at the State Solo Festival in Columbia, Missouri on Friday, April 26. Awesome job Colin!


CONGRATULATIONS FCA IMPACT ATHLETES OF THE YEAR! Chaffee Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) would like to congratulate Kaylynn Tuttleton, Carson Spies, Logan Horton, and Leah Vandeven for being nominated as an Impact Athlete of the Year for SEMO South FCA. These students will attend a Night of Champions Banquet to be recognized. Thank you for being great leaders!


REMINDER -- KINDERGARTEN FIELD TRIP IS ON THURSDAY, APRIL 25 -- The Kindergarten Field Trip will be on Thursday, April 25, at the Cape Movie Theater and Cape County Park. Students will be leaving the school at 9:00 a.m. and returning at 2:30 p.m. Students should wear a red shirt and tennis shoes. There is NO cost to the students. Please do NOT send money with the students. Lunch will be provided at the park. Parents/guardians are welcome to meet us at the park.


CONGRATULATIONS AYNE' HELD - GIRLS DISCUS SCHOOL RECORD! Ayné Held broke the girls discus record on April 23rd at the Saxony Lutheran Open with a throw of 31.36m (102'10.6"). The previous record holder was Kristi Martin who threw 102'10" in 1992. Great job Ayné!


ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS DAY (APRIL 24, 2024) -- Administrative Professionals Day is Wednesday, April 24. Please join us in thanking all of our administrative professionals at Chaffee School District. Their dedication is a key to our success and a special reason why they are appreciated so much! They are the heroes of our offices who keep everything running smoothly day in and day out! We thank these amazing ladies (Kelly Spies, Laura Schilling, Amber Flanigan, Amy Ratledge, and Gina Crowe) for their commitment and dedication to our students, staff, parents, and school!


REMINDER -- NO SCHOOL ON APRIL 26 AND 29 -- Chaffee R-2 School District will not be in session on Friday, April 26, or Monday, April 29. Cape Career and Technical Center (CTC) will hold classes on both of those dates, and transportation will be provided to and from CTC.


1ST GRADE FIELD TRIP REMINDER FOR APRIL 24 -- The 1st Grade Field Trip will be on Wednesday, April 24, at the Bootheel Youth Museum in Malden. Students should be at school at the regular time (no later than 8:00 a.m.). The bus will be leaving at approximately 8:45 a.m. The bus will return at approximately 2:30 p.m. so students can go home their regular way. Students should wear a red shirt and tennis shoes. Lunch (pizza) will be provided. Students do NOT need to bring money. Cell phones and electronic devices are NOT permitted on the bus.

SCHOOL BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION DAY (APRIL 23, 2024) -- Tuesday, April 23rd, is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day when we celebrate Chaffee’s amazing bus drivers and transportation staff! Our transportation team consistently ensures safe and dependable transportation for students to and from school every day and also to all of our athletic events and field trips. Thank you for your dedication and commitment and for going that “extra mile” for our students’ safety! 2ND GRADE FIELD TRIP REMINDER FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 23! The 2nd Grade Field Trip will be on Tuesday, April 23, at the River City Adventure Park (Caruthersville). The bus will be leaving at approximately 8:10-8:15 a.m. and will return at approximately 2:40-2:45 p.m. Students will need to wear a red shirt and tennis shoes. Students should bring a lunch (unless they signed up for a school sack lunch). Students can bring a water bottle (with their name on it).

CONGRATULATIONS CARLYANNE COSSOU – 300 METER HURDLES SCHOOL RECORD! Carlyanne Cossou broke the 300 meter hurdles record at the Riverbend Classic held at NMCC ON Friday, April 19, with a time of 49.22! The 37 year record set in 1987 was held by Lisa Seabaugh with a time of 49.50. Carlyanne has also dramatically improved her record 100 meter hurdles time to a 15.71! Great job Carlyanne!

PROM IS TONIGHT (APRIL 20)! Prom Night “VIVA Las Vegas” is TONIGHT (Saturday, April 20) in the High School Gym. Doors open for Prom attendees at 6:20 pm. Doors open for family and friends at 6:40 pm. Grand March starts at 7:00 pm. Coronation is at 10:15 pm. This will be a night of music, dancing, refreshments, and a photo booth.


JH Track Meet and HS Baseball Game Cancelled -- Today's (4/18/24) Junior High Track Meet at Scott City AND HS Baseball game at South Pemiscot have been canceled due to the impending inclement weather.


FINE ARTS NIGHT (K-12) IS TONIGHT! Please join us for an evening with the Fine Arts for Grades K-12 on Wednesday, April 17th, at the Elementary School. This will include: 5:00-7:00 pm--Browsing of student artwork in grades K-12. 5:15 pm--Performance by the 5th Grade. 5:45 pm--Technology Safety Presentation by Parent ProTech (in the Elementary Computer Lab). 6:30 pm--Performance by the Jr/Sr High School Choir.
