ELEMENTARY BOOK FAIR (FEBRUARY 13-20, 2025) – There will be a Book Fair on February 13 - 20 at Chaffee Elementary School. All purchases through the Book Fair benefit our school. FEBRUARY 13 (THURSDAY): Family Events at the Book Fair – The Book Fair will be open during Parent Teacher Conferences from 1:00-7:00 pm. // FEBRUARY 18 (TUESDAY): Book Fair Preview – Students will preview the Book Fair with their classes from 8:00 am-3:00 pm. // FEBRUARY 19 (WEDNESDAY): Book Fair Sales – Students may visit the book fair at their scheduled time between 12:00-3:00 pm. FEBRUARY 20 (THURSDAY): Final Book Fair Sales – Final shopping from 7:30-8:30 am. // Shop online during February 17–March 2 to support our school. A Note from the Cheer Coaches: We will still have the Mini Cheer Clinic perform tonight (2/11/25). It will be for the boys’ game vs Perryville. It starts at 6:15 pm. We will cheer onstage for the first half of the game and perform at halftime. Make sure they wear the shirt that they were given last night at the clinic and black bottoms (shorts, skirt, or pants). They will be given their bow at the game. Please have the girls arrive no earlier than 5:45 pm. Thank you! UPDATE FOR CHS BASKETBALL (TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11) -- The HS Girls’ Basketball game vs Malden is still on for tonight (2/11/25). Game time is 5:00 pm. The HS Boys’ Basketball game (Varsity only) will now be against Perryville tonight (2/11/25). The game will begin after the Girls’ game. The Boys’ Basketball Senior Recognition Program will take place on the basketball court after the Girls’ game and before the Boys’ game. The parents/guardians of the Senior Boys’ basketball players should meet near the weight room hallway with Coach Horrell, CHS Athletic Director, at 6:00 p.m. regarding line up instructions. The Youth Cheer Night performance will be as planned. They will perform during halftime of the Varsity game.

JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL PARENT ENROLLMENT PRESENTATIONS ON FEBRUARY 13 -- There will be a Junior High and Senior High School Parent Enrollment Presentation on Thursday, February 13, in the High School Library. Parents with students entering 8th Grade are invited to attend the Parent Enrollment Presentation at 6:00 pm. // Parents with students entering Grades 9-12 are invited to attend the Parent Enrollment Presentation at 6:30 pm. The Parent Enrollment Presentations are for the parents of all incoming 8th-12th graders. Students do not need to attend.

BETA CLUB CRUSHES FOR YOUR VALENTINE FUNDRAISER – Beta Club is selling Crushes for your Valentine at BOTH schools! For $1.50, you can buy a crush with a special message attached! Flavors are: Strawberry--"I love you berry much!” Grape--"I think you’re grape!” Orange--"Orange you glad we’re friends?” Sales will be February 3-10. Crushes will be delivered on February 12, 2025. They will be delivered to the student’s 2nd hour teacher (at the JH/HS) or to the Homeroom (at the Elementary). CHS ATHLETICS FOR FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7 – Chaffee Boys JV and Varsity teams will both be playing for 3rd place in the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament at Scott City on Friday, February 7. Chaffee JV Boys play Scott City JV at 4:00 pm in the SC Middle School Gym. Chaffee Varsity boys play Oran Varsity at 5:15 pm in the SC High School Gym. Our Varsity Lady Devils will play St. Paul Lutheran on the road at Valle Ste. Genevieve at 6:00 pm (Address: 40 N 4th Street Ste. Genevieve, MO 63670). STUDENT COUNCIL POLAR PLUNGE ON FEBRUARY 8 -- One of Chaffee Student Council’s favorite events of the year is the Polar Plunge on Saturday, February 8, that raises money for Special Olympics Missouri! The last few years Chaffee StuCo has been the #1 school team and won the Golden Plunger Award. Chaffee StuCo has some major competition this year. REMINDER -- CHS MOGUL DANCE ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8 -- The CHS Mogul Dance will take place on Saturday, February 8, from 7:00 – 10:00 pm in the High School Activity Center. Cost is $3.00 per person or $5.00 per couple. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Professional photos will be available for purchase for $5.00. Voting will take place at the Mogul Dance. Coronation will begin at 8:30 pm. Parents and family are welcome to join us for the coronation. CONGRATULATIONS FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA (FBLA) -- Chaffee Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) had an outstanding day at the FBLA District Leadership Conference on February 6, 2025! REMINDER -- BETA CLUB DRESS-UP RAFFLE AND FUNDRAISER AT CHS ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7 -- On Friday, February 7th, 2025, Chaffee Junior/Senior High School invites staff, students, and the community to join in a dress-up raffle to support Damion Crader, a senior from Advance High School, who was seriously injured in a car accident. For $1.00, students can dress up as a character of their choice. This $1.00 will also enter them into a drawing, with the winning student receiving lunch from a fast food restaurant of their choice (within reason). Any student or community member who donates $1.00 will be entered to win one of TWO baskets from the Chaffee Rock and Roll Drive-In. Please note that students participating in dressing up will need to pay an additional $1.00 to be entered into the second raffle. Winners for all three drawings will be announced at the end of the school day on Friday, February 7th. 100 DAYS OF SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5!! CES will be celebrating the 100th Day of School on Wednesday, February 5! To celebrate, students and staff should dress like they are 100 years old. We can’t wait to see what all of our CES students and staff will look like when they are 100 years old!

STUDENT COUNCIL PAJAMA DAY AT CHS ON FEBRUARY 5 -- Chaffee Student Council is having a Pajama Day on Wednesday, February 5, at the Jr/Sr High School to raise money for the Special Olympics. Students and staff can wear pajamas for a $1.00 donation. StuCo members will be at the doors on Wednesday morning to collect money and hand out stickers that will need to be visible and worn all day to show you have paid.

YOUTH CHEER CLINIC DATES -- The Chaffee Varsity Cheerleaders will be hosting a Cheer Clinic on Monday, February 10, 2025. The clinic will be held at Chaffee High School in our High School Gym from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm. Any student in PreK-6th grade is eligible to attend. The cost of the clinic is $35 for each student. This includes admission to the Chaffee High School Boys Basketball game on Tuesday night, February 11th, vs. Zalma, a T-Shirt, and a hair bow. The students will be on stage for the first and second quarters to cheer on the basketball boys, and then they will perform at halftime of the game (game starts at 6 pm) that evening. We also ask that your child/children come to the basketball game on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, no earlier than 5:30 pm so we can review the material with them before they perform.
Permission slips were sent home with the students. Permission forms can also be found on the elementary school website announcements page. Permission forms and money must be turned into the student's teacher at the Elementary School or the main office at the High School by Monday, February 3, 2025.
