CONGRATULATIONS CHAFFEE TRACK AND FIELD SECTIONAL QUALIFIERS -- Chaffee participated at the Track and Field Class 2 District 1 Meet on Saturday, May 10, at Scott City High School. Congratulations to all of our track and field athletes during their 2025 season. Congratulations to the following athletes who qualified for the Class 2 Sectional 1 Track Meet at Grandview (Hillsboro) on Saturday, May 17. CARLYANNE COSSOU was a 4 time District Champion at the District Track & Field Meet in the following events - 100m Hurdles (15.99), 300m Hurdles (46.96), 200 meters (26.43), and Triple Jump (10.87m./35-8.00). MAKENNA NIXON placed 2nd in the High Jump with a jump of 1.35m (4-5.25) at the District Track & Field Meet. TY ATKINS placed 4th in the Javelin with a PR throw of 43.46m (142-3.00) at Districts. PEYTON PENROSE placed 4th in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 18.52 at the District Meet. CARSON CLOVER placed 4th in the Shot Put with a throw of 13.79m (45-3.00) at Districts. Outstanding Job to all of these track and field athletes and Good Luck at Sectionals on Saturday!

MAY 16 (FRIDAY): HS Baseball – Districts (at Charleston) 4:00 pm -- Chaffee will play the winner of the Meadow Heights / St. Vincent game. MAY 21 (WEDNESDAY): The CHS Athletic Banquet will be Wednesday, May 21st, at 6:00 pm in the High School Activity Center.
KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION ON MAY 12 -- Kindergarten Graduation is on Monday, May 12, at 6:00 pm at CES. We invite you to celebrate the graduating Class of 2037! You are welcome to bring family and friends to help celebrate! ~ Students only will report to their classroom at 5:30 pm where they will get dressed in their cap and gown. Their teachers will have their cap and gown waiting for them in their classroom. ~ The ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm. ~ After graduation, students will go to the risers for pictures. You can pick your child up from that location. ~ Please pick up your child’s memory box from their class table after graduation is over.

SENIOR FINALS (MAY 8-9) AND SENIOR WALKOUT (MAY 9) -- Senior Finals will be on the following days: Thursday, May 8 -- 4, 5, 6, 7 periods. Friday, May 9 -- 1, 2, 3 periods. The Senior Walkout will be at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, May 9. Students must attend classes that morning (including CTC) to participate.
REMINDER – HONORS BANQUET ON MAY 8TH -- The CHS Honors Banquet will be on Thursday, May 8, at 6:30 pm. Individual invitations and dinner tickets were mailed out, and all CHS Honor Students and Academic Letter Recipients received an invitation with 2 complimentary tickets for parents, guardians, relatives, or guests. Please remember to bring your tickets to present at the door. The deadline to purchase additional tickets was May 2nd.
PAJAMA DAY AT CES AND CHS ON MAY 8 -- Student Council is sponsoring a Pajama Day at Chaffee High School AND Chaffee Elementary on Thursday, May 8th, to help raise money for the family in Scott City that was affected by a house fire. Students and staff can wear pajamas to school for $1.00. Extra donations will also be accepted. Thank you for your support!
REMINDER – CHS STUDENT COUNCIL APPLICATION DEADLINE -- Student Council is accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year! All students in grades 8-11 this year can apply. If you want to become more involved in your school and community, see Mrs. Swinford or Mrs. Knutson to get an application. They must be turned in by Wednesday, May 7th.

FINE ARTS NIGHT ON MAY 6, 2025 -- The Fine Arts Night (Grades 2-12) will be held on Tuesday, May 6, from 5:00-7:00 pm in High School Gym. Fine Arts Night will feature 2nd-12th Grade artwork and music performances by the Elementary and HS Choir. Please join us for an evening with the Fine Arts!

GAME UPDATE FOR MAY 2 -- The baseball schedule for Friday, May 2nd, is now Chaffee Varsity vs Westwood Baptist Varsity at 6:30 pm. The 4:30 game with Cooter has been cancelled by Cooter.
