NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK IS APRIL 7-13, 2024 -- Thank you Ms. Mossman for instilling the love of reading and technology in our students and staff at CES and the Jr/Sr High School. Thank you for all you do for Chaffee School District!


ECLIPSE EVENT TIMELINE (CES AND JR/SR HIGH) ON MONDAY, APRIL 8 -- The Eclipse event will begin with students going outside at approximately 1:30 pm. Students will be outside during Totality and stay outside until approximately 2:15 pm. Students will be provided with Eclipse glasses. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL -- Homeroom classes will be sitting together on the playground, and students will need to stay with their classes. Parents can attend and sit with their child(ren) on the playground. If parents want to take their child(ren) home after the Eclipse, parents should sign the teacher's clipboard to sign out so that KidAccount can be updated. JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL -- Beta Club will sell ice cream floats to Jr/Sr High School students from the concession stand during the Eclipse event. Flavors include: Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, and Orange Fanta. JR/SR HIGH BETA CLUB ICE CREAM FLOATS FOR SALE AT THE ECLIPSE EVENT (GRADES 7-12 ONLY) -- Junior/Senior High School students can celebrate the Eclipse event on Monday, April 8, with an ice cream float! Beta Club will be selling ice cream floats for $2.00 (for 7th-12th graders only). Flavors will include: Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, and Fanta. It is a tasty way to enjoy this celestial event. REMINDER – FCA CELEBRATION OF FAITH IS APRIL 6! FCA Celebration of Faith will be on Saturday, April 6, in the High School Gym at 6:00 pm. We will have music with Clinton Walker, and Ron Coleman Jr will be our speaker. This will be an awesome time so invite your friends and family and join us! Open to the public. Free admission.


6TH GRADE GRADUATION FUNDRAISER -- The 6th Grade will be having a fundraiser EVERY FRIDAY in April for all grade levels to wear sunglasses or a hat for $1.00 to support 6th Grade Graduation!


CES PENNY WAR (APRIL 4–MAY 3) -- There will be a Penny War at CES from April 4th through May 3rd. Each grade will have a milk jug to drop money into. Each coin is worth its value (For example a Quarter = 25 points). The grade level that has the most points will win an ice cream treat and an extra recess. All proceeds will go to the Chaffee Parent Group to help purchase a new laminating machine for the CES staff.


PARAPROFESSIONAL APPRECIATION DAY (APRIL 3, 2024) -- Our Chaffee Schools paraprofessionals play an important role in our classrooms and make a positive difference for our students every day. Thank you to all of our Chaffee School District paraprofessionals for their dedication! CONGRATULATIONS BLAKE YARBRO! Blake Yarbro broke the school javelin record with a throw of 146'7.8" at the Jackson Invitational. The previous record holder was Kolton Spies who had thrown 146'1.25" in 2022.


SPRING BREAK REMINDER -- School will not be in session on Friday, March 29; Monday, April 1; or Tuesday, April 2 for Spring Break.


CES YEARBOOK DEADLINE REMINDER -- CES Yearbook money and forms are due on Thursday, March 28.


CONGRATULATIONS CARLYANNE COSSOU AND AYNE' HELD! Carlyanne Cossou broke the 100 meter hurdles record at the Dexter track meet with a time of 16.75 seconds. The previous record holder was Cassie Hindman who graduated from CHS in 2012. Ayné Held broke the school javelin record at the Dexter track meet with a throw of 116'8". The previous record was 106'7" and was held by Grace Knutson since 2018. Congratulations to Carlyanne and Ayné!


Briggs Scholarship applications are due this THURSDAY, March 28th no later than 3:00pm!


SENIOR PARENTS -- The due date for Senior Recognition Ads is Sunday, March 31st. If you are planning on placing a senior ad, please do so as soon as possible so that Mrs. Knutson can ensure that there is space for all orders. You can place your order and design your own senior ad on jostens.com/yearbooks or you can email your photos and tribute note to Mrs. Knutson at anna.knutson@chaffeer2.org. Please include any design requests you have in that email. There are 4 options available: Full page ad-$140; Half page ad-$75; 1/4 page-$40; 1/8 page (business card size)-$35. ATHLETICS UPDATE FOR MONDAY, MARCH 25: The Varsity Baseball game has been moved up to a 4:00 pm start. The JH Track Meet at Kelly has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 27.

Senior Class of 2024 Reminder -- Graduation announcements will be distributed on Thursday, March 21st during lunch for all students who ordered from Jostens. All payments can be made online at www.thegraduationcenter.com or contacting their office. Jostens will not accept any check payments at deliveries. The office has a list of all money owed.
