
REMINDER -- KINDERGARTEN/SENIOR WALK (FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11) -- The Kindergarten/Senior Walk will be held on Friday, October 11, at 11:00 am. This is a new tradition we are starting this year. All Kindergarten students will join the Seniors on the football field for a Kindergarten/Senior Walk. We are asking Seniors and Kindergartners to please wear Red and Black this Friday to school. Kindergarten students will be bussed to the high school for the event and will be taken back to the elementary school afterwards. Parents are welcome to come out and watch if they want.

NATIONAL CUSTODIAN APPRECIATION DAY IS OCTOBER 2 -- We thank all of our Chaffee School custodians who work tirelessly to keep our school buildings clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone! Their dedication, attention to detail, and hard work behind the scenes are appreciated. From spotless hallways to well-maintained classrooms, they make our school a better place every day. HOMECOMING PARADE RESCHEDULE TO OCTOBER 4 AT 1:45 PM -- The 2024 Homecoming Parade has been rescheduled for Friday, October 4, at 1:45 pm! We invite any businesses, organizations, clubs, etc. to join us. Please contact Morgan Swinford via Facebook, at morgan.swinford@chaffeer2.org, or call Chaffee High School if you are interested in being in the parade. Both Chaffee Elementary and St. Ambrose students will still be in session at the time of the parade and will come out to watch the parade from their school. The route is the same as last year: The parade will start at the high school, go down Yoakum to Main, Main to Elliott, Elliott to 5th, and 5th back to Yoakum. JUNIOR / SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL REMINDERS -- Because of last week’s weather, our Homecoming Parade has been rescheduled to Friday, October 4th. Junior/Senior High School students will be dismissed at 1:04 p.m. on Friday afternoon to either be in the parade or to watch the parade. Bus routes will NOT run for 7th-12th grade students. Alternative transportation will need to be arranged for that afternoon only. Please notify the Jr/Sr High School office on any changes and communicate those to your student(s). ELEMENTARY REMINDERS -- Elementary students WILL be in session at the time of the parade and will come out to watch the parade from the elementary school.


PAJAMA DAY AT JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4 -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Senior Beta Club is hosting a Pajama Day fundraiser EVERY Friday during the month of October to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The first Pajama Day will be Friday, October 4th. For $1.00, Jr/Sr High School students can wear their favorite pair of pajamas. Beta members will be at both entrances on Friday morning to take money and give stickers to those who are participating! Thank you for helping us make a difference!


CONGRATULATIONS, MRS. JENNIFER NOLEN, GRAND MARSHALL CHS 2024 HOMECOMING! CHS Student Council honored Chaffee R-2 School District former employee, Jennifer Nolen, as Grand Marshall of CHS 2024 Homecoming. Mrs. Nolen grew up in Chaffee and graduated in 1964 from Chaffee High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Home Economics from SEMO in 1968. Mrs. Nolen returned to her Alma Mater in 1984 and taught Family and Consumer Sciences for 21 years until retirement. When asked about her favorite memories of teaching, her response was, “Those she shared with her students in and out of the classroom. Teaching life skills was a favorite.” Thank you, Mrs. Nolen, for all of your hard work and dedication to the school and community!


2024 HOMECOMING BANNER WINNERS -- Our Junior / Senior High School “Devils Got The Beat” Homecoming class banners turned out great this year! These will be displayed in the Homecoming Parade that was rescheduled on Friday, October 4, at 1:45 pm! Congratulations to the following winning banners: 1st Place – Sophomores; 2nd Place – Seniors; 3rd Place - 7th Grade.


CONGRATULATIONS ALL-DISTRICT CHOIR -- Chaffee Jr/Sr High School Choir students participated in the Southeast All-District Choir Auditions at Cape Central High School on September 28th. Congratulations to the following students who were selected as Southeast All-District Choir! 9th-10th Grade Choir: Eve O'Neal – Soprano; Kitty Butcher – Soprano; Eli Morgan – Alto. 7th-8th Grade Choir: Annabelle Goodholm – Soprano. The All-District Choir Concert will be held at Cape Central's Kinder Performance Hall on Saturday, November 9, at 4:00 pm.

UPDATES FOR TONIGHT’S HOMECOMING ACTIVITIES (SEPTEMBER 27, 2024): The rain won't stop our Red Devils! Come out and cheer them on to a Homecoming victory tonight at 7:00 p.m. If you can’t make the game, it will be live streaming on Hudl Fan at fan.hudl.com (https://fan.hudl.com/usa/mo/chaffee/organization/4810/chaffee-high-school) The High School Band will not be performing at tonight's football game. Recognition of our Grand Marshall and the Homecoming Coronation will take place inside the High School Gym tonight right after the football game. Everyone is welcome to join us! We will also be live streaming it if you can’t make it.


REMINDER -- NO EARLY DISMISSAL FOR JR/SR HIGH ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 -- There will be NO early dismissal now on Friday, September 27, since the Homecoming Parade has been postponed. It will be a regular school day. Don't forget to wear your Crazy Red & Black for Homecoming Dress Up Day!


The JH Football game scheduled for tonight at Scott City has been postponed. We will communicate a make up date when one has been finalized.

JR/SR HIGH PROGRESS REPORTS -- Jr/Sr High School Progress Reports will be distributed to students on Wednesday, September 25, during 7th hour. Parents -- If a student has missing assignments, the Progress Report will need to be signed by the parent/guardian and turned back in. TEACHEREASE PARENT PORTAL REMINDER: Also, if you haven’t already done so, please make sure you activate your Chaffee R-2 Public Schools online parent portal, TeacherEase. The TeacherEase Parent Portal allows parents to track their student(s) progress, check attendance, view grades, and receive updates from the school. You can also adjust your communication preferences to ensure that we know how to reach you.

JH GIRLS BASKETBALL THIS WEEK -- Catch our Junior High Girls Basketball in action this week at CHS. They play Puxico on Tuesday, September 24 and play Advance on Wednesday, September 25. Both games are at Chaffee and start at 5:00 pm. Come out and show our JH Lady Devils your support!


MR. CHS POSTPONED -- Unfortunately we have to postpone Mr. CHS tonight (Tuesday, September 24)! We will try to have it again during Spirit Week in basketball season. We WILL still have our Ice Cream Social at 6:00 pm tonight!
