FALL SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES PICTURES ON AUGUST 29 -- Fall school sports and activities pictures (Individual and group) will be on Thursday, August 29. Picture packet forms were sent home last week. 12:20 HS Cross Country / 12:25 HS Band / 12:45 HS Football / 1:05 HS Cheer / 1:25 HS Softball / 1:45 JH Cheer / 2:05 JH Football / 2:25 JH Girls Basketball. A bus will go over to the elementary school to pick up all participating 6th graders at 1:55 p.m.
REMINDER -- There will be a Parent Group Meeting on Tuesday, August 27, at 6:00 pm in the CES Activity Center. We hope to see you at the meeting!
REMINDER – ANNUAL FALL KICKOFF IS TONIGHT (THURSDAY, AUGUST 22)! The annual Fall Kickoff is on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 6:30 pm at the High School Football Field. This event is to kick off all Fall sports and activities with the introduction and recognition of our Fall Junior High and High School athletes and coaches and our Marching Band. Season Athletic Passes can be purchased near the concession stand. Adult season passes cost $50.00, and student season passes cost $35.00. Senior Citizens (55+) can get a pass for free. Also, if you would like to join the Booster Club, there will be Booster Club officers with membership forms near the concession stand. Come and join us to meet your Chaffee Red Devils!

FRIDAY, AUGUST 23 – High School Football Jamboree at home at 6:00 p.m. Chaffee plays in the 2nd and 3rd sessions. JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE NEW TO THE DISTRICT OR WHO ARE NEW TO THE JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING – We will have Student Council Hallway Buddies the first two days back to school. If you are: new to the district; or new to the building; or don't know your teacher -- Just look for one of the StuCo members wearing a rockstar red vest, and they will assist you to your classes! Please share with parents who have a student who will be new to our building! We look forward to a great school year!
ATTENTION SENIORS – SENIOR SUNRISE! All seniors are invited to the Senior Sunrise on the first day of school on Tuesday, August 20, at 6:00 a.m. on the sophomore parking lot. Breakfast will be provided.

REMINDER FOR ALL JUNIOR HIGH FALL ATHLETES – The First Official Day of Practice for Junior High Fall Sports is on Monday, August 19. All Junior High athletes must have a physical on file to practice.
REMINDER – HS FALL SPORTS PROGRAM PICTURES AND SENIOR BANNER PICTURES ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 17 – The High School Fall sports team pictures for the football program and also Senior Banner photos (for senior fall athletes and senior band members) will be on Saturday, August 17th at 10:00 am.

Welcome Back to School Chaffee Faculty, Staff, and Administration – Professional Development Days on August 12-16, 2024.
CES OPEN HOUSE / BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT -- CES Open House / Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, August 15, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Kindergarten parents please check your email for information from your child’s teacher regarding their assigned time. All other parents and students can drop in anytime between 5:30-7:00. Please have your child bring their supplies so their backpacks will be a little lighter on the first day of school.
JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES – The Athletic Handbook Meeting will be on Sunday, August 11, at 6:00 pm in the High School Gym. All players/athletes (Junior High and High School) need to attend and should also have a parent or guardian attending/representing them. Players and parents/guardians will meet with their coaches for practice information, game schedules, expectations, and the team messaging platform setup. The Athletic Handbook will be reviewed and signed. Coach Horrell will be taking handbooks, athletic patch payments, collecting physicals, and selling Athletic Passes. Adult Passes are $50. Student Passes are $35. Senior Citizen Passes are Free. The Booster Club will be taking Booster Club memberships and Golf Tournament signups.
ATHLETICS DEAD WEEK PERIOD -- AUGUST 3 - AUGUST 11, 2024 – Summer weights/conditioning/camps have concluded, and the Chaffee Athletic Department would like to remind everyone that the Summer Athletic Dead Period is August 3-11, 2024. During this time, there will be NO sports, training, conditioning, film sessions, use of school fields and/or facilities for any athletic purpose. Use of any school facility for a sports related purpose is prohibited. Coaches may not work with school athletes for any reason during this time period, either at/on school property or otherwise. This is a time for our athletes and their families to have a break, step back, and refresh before the fall seasons begin. Should you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Aaron Horrell via email at: aaron.horrell@chaffeer2.org or by telephone (573) 887-3226. Per Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA), the summertime dead period is a period of defined length in which no contact takes place between school coaches/directors of MSHSAA-sponsored activities and students enrolled in the member school, or who will be enrolled in the member school during the next school year. Further, during the dead period school, facilities are not utilized by enrolled students in connection with any sport or activity governed by MSHSAA. The dead period is a “no school activities time”; no open gyms, competitions, practices, conditioning, weight training; no activity-related functions or fundraisers, camps, or clinics at school facilities or sponsored elsewhere by the school; no coaches/directors or students may have planned contact other than casual, normal community, non-activity contact. While there may be sports activities during this time, they must not involve the school coach, the school, or school facilities. The dead period shall be nine consecutive days in length and must begin on a Saturday and last through the second following Sunday.
REMINDER – DRUMLINE CAMP will be July 29 (Monday) through August 2 (Friday) from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. BAND CAMP will be August 5 (Monday) through August 9 (Friday) from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. There will be a break for lunch at 12:00 pm every day. Students may bring their own lunch or leave campus for lunch. Band members -- please remember to bring everything needed for your instrument, music flip-folder, water, sun-protective headgear, comfortable/cool clothing, and appropriate footwear for marching. Time will be split between outside practice and inside music rehearsal.
REMINDER – DISTRICT ENROLLMENT DAY IS TODAY (7/24/24)!
Chaffee School District Enrollment Day for both the Elementary and Jr/Sr High School is TODAY (July 24, 2024) from 7:00 am-7:00 pm in the High School Gymnasium. Individual student enrollment packets (Elementary and Junior/Senior High School) were mailed out in early July, and parents/guardians are asked to complete all of the information on each form and return everything during the District Enrollment Day!
Just a few reminders:
~This is for parents and students (both returning and new students).
~Parents should fill out all forms prior to coming to the enrollment day and bring the completed forms with them.
~Individual student school pictures and staff pictures will be taken by Cheekwood Studios.
~Picture packets will be available (they were also mailed out with student packets). ~Parents/students should be prepared to pay all remaining outstanding balances from the 2023-24 school year.
~Scott County Health Department will be available for students who need immunizations.
~Chromebook insurance will be available for $25.00 for students in grades 3-12 and can be paid at enrollment day (Pre-K through 2nd grade do not need Chromebook insurance).
~Individual sports schedules will be available.
~Sports passes will be available for purchase.
Also, any student who is NEW to the district this year can enroll and have their picture taken at District Enrollment Day. Students who are NEW to the district will need to bring proof of residency, birth certificate, and shot records.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2024 TRACK & FIELD ACADEMIC ALL STATE HONOREES -- Carson Clover, Carlyanne Cossou, Ayné Held, Hayden Held, Kale Leggett, Eli Nix, Madison Pobst, Jayda Sadler, Zeke Wessel, Riley Wilson. Congratulations and great job to all of the track & field athletes on their Academic All State Honors. This wraps up all 2023-2024 athletic honors.
