LADY DEVILS SOFTBALL ROAD BLOCK ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29 -- There will be a Lady Devils Softball Road Block on Tuesday, October 29th, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the 4-Way Stop on Main & Yoakum. The proceeds help the Lady Devils with their State Softball travels. Any and all donations accepted. The Chaffee Lady Devils beat the Elsberry Lady Indians 3-2 in the State Quarterfinals game on Saturday, October 26, and are headed to the State Final Four! They will play Mid-Buchanan on Friday, November 1, at 12:00 pm in the Missouri State Softball Tournament at the Killian Softball Complex in Springfield, Missouri. Springfield here we come! CONGRATULATIONS JULIE MYERS – CROSS COUNTRY ALL CONFERENCE HONORS! Chaffee Cross Country participated in the Heartland Conference Meet on October 22 in Cape Girardeau at Cape County Park North. Freshman Peyton Penrose finished in 24th place. Senior Julie Myers placed 10th which earned her All Conference honors. She is the first Chaffee Cross Country runner to earn All Conference honors since 2020 (Mackenzie Jackson).
REMINDER -- D.A.R.E. NIGHT AT THE ROCK ‘N’ ROLL DRIVE IN IS ON OCTOBER 26 -- D.A.R.E. Night at the Rock ‘N’ Roll Drive In will be Saturday, October 26th. The movies will be Hocus Pocus 1 and the Nightmare Before Christmas. Gates open at 5:30 pm. The movie will start at dusk (approximately 7:00 pm). Concessions, food trucks, and ice cream will be available. There will be a giveaway drawing that night for a movie basket. RED RIBBON WEEK 2024 ("LIFE IS A MOVIE, FILM DRUG FREE") AT CHAFFEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL -- During the week of October 21-October 25, CES will be celebrating the right to remain BULLY & DRUG FREE!! During the month of October the kids will be learning the dangers associated with drugs and how to say NO!! They will also be learning how to identify bullying behavior and how to report, support, and stand up to bullying. A few fun items during the week include: *A DRUG FREE color contest in each class; one winner from each class will receive a prize. *Each class will decorate a pumpkin to be judged during parent/teacher conferences. The class with the most votes will get a pizza party.
*The classes will watch Monsters Inc. and enjoy popcorn. *Each day will be a different dress theme.

REMINDER – CHS PAJAMA DAY -- Tomorrow (Friday, October 11) is Pajama Day again at CHS. The Senior Beta Club is sponsoring a Pajama Day fundraiser every Friday during the month of October to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. For $1.00, Jr/Sr High School students can wear their favorite pair of pajamas. Beta members will be at both entrances on Friday morning to collect $1.00 and give stickers to those who are participating. Thank you for helping us make a difference!
