REMINDER -- CHS MOGUL DANCE ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8 -- The CHS Mogul Dance will take place on Saturday, February 8, from 7:00 – 10:00 pm in the High School Activity Center. Cost is $3.00 per person or $5.00 per couple.  Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Professional photos will be available for purchase for $5.00.  Voting will take place at the Mogul Dance.  Coronation will begin at 8:30 pm.  Parents and family are welcome to join us for the coronation. CONGRATULATIONS FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA (FBLA) -- Chaffee Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) had an outstanding day at the FBLA District Leadership Conference on February 6, 2025!  Chaffee FBLA had 17 of 33 students qualify for the State Leadership Conference in April, and several students qualified in more than one event. Congratulations FBLA and Good Luck at State in April! REMINDER -- BETA CLUB DRESS-UP RAFFLE AND FUNDRAISER AT CHS ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7 -- On Friday, February 7th, 2025, Chaffee Junior/Senior High School invites staff, students, and the community to join in a dress-up raffle to support Damion Crader, a senior from Advance High School, who was seriously injured in a car accident.  For $1.00, students can dress up as a character of their choice. This $1.00 will also enter them into a drawing, with the winning student receiving lunch from a fast food restaurant of their choice (within reason).  Any student or community member who donates $1.00 will be entered to win one of TWO baskets from the Chaffee Rock and Roll Drive-In. Please note that students participating in dressing up will need to pay an additional $1.00 to be entered into the second raffle.  Winners for all three drawings will be announced at the end of the school day on Friday, February 7th. 100 DAYS OF SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5!!   CES will be celebrating the 100th Day of School on Wednesday, February 5!  To celebrate, students and staff should dress like they are 100 years old.  We can’t wait to see what all of our CES students and staff will look like when they are 100 years old!

STUDENT COUNCIL PAJAMA DAY AT CHS ON FEBRUARY 5 -- Chaffee Student Council is having a Pajama Day on Wednesday, February 5, at the Jr/Sr High School to raise money for the Special Olympics. Students and staff can wear pajamas for a $1.00 donation.  StuCo members will be at the doors on Wednesday morning to collect money and hand out stickers that will need to be visible and worn all day to show you have paid.

YOUTH CHEER CLINIC DATES -- The Chaffee Varsity Cheerleaders will be hosting a Cheer Clinic on Monday, February 10, 2025. The clinic will be held at Chaffee High School in our High School Gym from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm. Any student in PreK-6th grade is eligible to attend. The cost of the clinic is $35 for each student.  This includes admission to the Chaffee High School Boys Basketball game on Tuesday night, February 11th, vs. Zalma, a T-Shirt, and a hair bow.  The students will be on stage for the first and second quarters to cheer on the basketball boys, and then they will perform at halftime of the game (game starts at 6 pm) that evening. We also ask that your child/children come to the basketball game on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, no earlier than 5:30 pm so we can review the material with them before they perform.  
Permission slips were sent home with the students. Permission forms can also be found on the elementary school website announcements page.  Permission forms and money must be turned into the student's teacher at the Elementary School or the main office at the High School by Monday, February 3, 2025. The Chaffee Red Devils Boys play Meadow Heights on Thursday, January 30, at home. The first game starts at 5:00 pm.  Last week the Meadow Heights Class of 2025 lost another classmate in a tragic accident. We want to show our support to her family in this time of need. We will have a 50/50 raffle and also have donation buckets set up at the gate and concession stand. The cheerleaders will also be selling pink and gold ribbon pins for $1. All money donated will go to the Abigail Henson family.  We will do a prayer together at halftime of the varsity game.

UPDATE – GAME TIME CHANGES FOR BOYS SCOTT-MISSISSIPPI CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1 -- Due to extenuating circumstances, our Scott- Mississippi Conference Tournament schedule for Saturday, February 1, 2025, has changed. The Varsity will be playing Scott County Central at 8:00 am, and the JV will be playing Oak Ridge immediately following. Both games will be played in the Scott City High School Gym.

Chaffee R-2 will move to AMI days on 30th and 31st of January due to sickness. Student attendance is holding steady, but several students have been out as well as several staff and substitutes that has made staffing a challenge this week. 
CTC students will continue and extra curricular events will be decided on a case by case basis.

HS GIRLS’ BASKETBALL GAME (VARSITY ONLY) ADDED TO SCHEDULE ON JANUARY 23 -- We picked up a girls’ basketball game this week, and the Lady Devils (Varsity Only) will play at Malden on Thursday, January 23, at 6:00 pm.  The player bus will depart at 4:10 pm.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SENIOR BETA CLUB NATIONAL QUALIFIERS!  Chaffee Senior Beta  Club members competed at the Missouri State Beta Convention on January 16-18.  Chaffee had four students on top of the preexisting four members who are National bound.
