THANKSGIVING BREAK NOVEMBER 20-24. No school will be held on Monday, November 20, through Friday, November 24 for the Thanksgiving break. JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL PICTURE RETAKE DAY – School picture retakes for Jr/Sr High students will be on Wednesday, November 15. If students need their pictures retaken (from Enrollment Day before the school year started) or if new/returning students need school pictures for the yearbook, please stop by the main office to pick up a picture form.

Congratulations to the following students for being selected in the Southeast All-District Bands. High School: Colin Menz-- 1st Chair Trumpet (qualified for All-State Band auditions) and Keira Biggs-- 14th Chair Clarinet (qualified for All-State Band auditions). Junior High: Eve O'Neal --1st Chair Trumpet. These students will perform in the All-District Band Concert on Saturday, November 18, at Cape Central High School at 7:00 pm.
SENIOR CITIZEN THANKSGIVING DINNER -- The annual FBLA/FCCLA Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner will be on Wednesday, November 15, in the High School Activity Center. Tickets are available from the High School office or the Chaffee Nutrition Center. The dinner is free to all Chaffee Senior Citizens. Everyone attending must have a ticket to receive a meal. Dinner is at 5:00 pm with carryouts beginning at 5:30 pm.
AMEREN MISSOURI REBATE CHECK PRESENTATION FOR BIZSAVERS PROGRAM!
Ameren Missouri and Veregy representatives attended the October Chaffee R-2 School Board meeting to present a rebate check to Dr. Shawn Nix, Superintendent, for Chaffee School District’s participation in the BizSavers program during our bond renovations.
VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION AND ASSEMBLY ON NOVEMBER 10!
We would like to invite all Veterans and community members to join us on Friday, November 10, for our Veterans Day Celebration at 9:00 am in the High School Gym. Veterans are also invited to a breakfast from 8:00-8:45 am at the high school. The assembly will be led by CHS Student Council Officers. The Guest Speaker is United States Army Sergeant Major David Little. Music will be provided by our High School Band, High School Choir, and the 5th and 6th Grade Choir. We will also be joined by St. Ambrose school and grades 3-6 from Chaffee Elementary.

WINTER SPORTS PICTURE DAY! Winter Sports pictures will be taken on Thursday, November 9. Junior High and High School Basketball teams will take individual and team pictures. The schedule is: HS Boys Basketball 12:20 pm -- HS Girls Basketball 12:40 pm -- JH Girls Basketball 1:00 pm -- JH Boys Basketball 1:20 pm.
The High School Fall Athletics Banquet (for HS Football, Softball, and Cross Country) will be on Thursday, November 9, at 6:30 pm in the HS Activity Center. There will be a meal and awards presentations. The meal is free for all players and coaches. The meal is $10 for guests. Children 8 and under are free. The meal will be Spaghetti, Chicken Alfredo, salad, breadsticks, dessert, and drink.
REMINDER – EARLY DISMISSAL DAY! Monday, November 6, is an Early Dismissal Day. Classes will dismiss at 1:30 pm.

GOOD LUCK RED DEVILS FOOTBALL AT DISTRICTS! The Devils play Van-Far at 1:00 PM today (11/4/23). Good luck Devils!! #hornsup Some notes for the game at Van-Far: (1) For Game entry all traffic will come down the gravel road that is located beside the High School. (2) No fan will be allowed to enter the facility until after 11:30 am. From Van-Far’s AD on their school site: To meet site specifications per MSHSAA we had to make a few changes. Audrain Rd 557 will be closed at Hwy P (at the Elementary School). The High School parking lot main entrance will also be blocked off to traffic. All traffic will be diverted to Audrian Rd 557 from Hwy 54. Once on Audrain Rd 557 please follow signs for admission gate and directions for parking. Admission to the game will be $6 for all ages 6+. No passes will be accepted per MSHSAA.

The deadline to sign up is November 3, TOMORROW and the cost is $68 per test. With the BOGO sale, first time test takers only pay $68 for 2 tests. If you have any questions or need help registering, stop by and see Mrs. Shy before 6th hour Friday. If $$ is an issue please let me know you may qualify for a fee waiver to get a free test. During Parent/Teacher Conference night Thursday, October 26th, there will be a Financial Aid representative from SEMO who will present information about college finances. This event is open to 9-12th grade students and their parents. It will start at 5:30 pm in the Activity Center and last approximately 60 minutes.
