SCHOOL LUNCH HERO DAY ON MAY 2 -- School Lunch Hero Day is Friday, May 2. Thank you to all of our School Lunch Heroes for their hard work and dedication in our Elementary and High School cafeterias. This dedicated staff shows their superpowers as true heroes in the cafeteria every day! GAME UPDATE FOR MAY 2 -- The baseball schedule for Friday, May 2nd, is now Chaffee Varsity vs Westwood Baptist Varsity at 6:30 pm. The 4:30 game with Cooter has been cancelled by Cooter. Please continue to watch for updates from the school announcements, on the school website, or on the school Facebook page for additional information regarding a possible double header.
SCHOOL PRINCIPAL APPRECIATION DAY -- May 1st is School Principal Appreciation Day. Thank you Dr. Vandeven and Mr. Cundiff for all that you do! We appreciate their dedication, leadership, and commitment to our students, faculty, staff, and school community. Happy School Principal Appreciation Day!
SPRING CONCERT ON MAY 1ST – The Spring Band Concert for Junior High and High School Band will be on Thursday, May 1st, at 7:00 pm in the High School Gym. Please join us for an evening of music!

A few reminders for MAP testing: (1) Be at school EVERY day and arrive to school on time. (2) Get a good night’s sleep. (3) Eat breakfast. SCHOOL BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION DAY (APRIL 22) -- April 22nd is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day in Missouri when we celebrate Chaffee’s amazing bus drivers and transportation staff! Our transportation team consistently ensures safe and dependable transportation for students to and from school every day and also to all of our athletic events and field trips. Thank you for your dedication and commitment and for going that “extra mile” for our students’ safety! KINDERGARTEN CAMP ON MAY 1ST -- The Chaffee Elementary Kindergarten teachers are hosting a Kindergarten Camp on Thursday, May 1, from 5:30-6:30. This is for students who will be entering Kindergarten next year. The Kindergarten students will go to their classrooms to meet with their teacher and meet other students in their class with a few activities and a snack. Parents of Kindergarten students will meet with Dr. Vandeven, Elementary Principal, for a presentation.
REMINDER – SPRING BREAK -- Chaffee School District will not be in session from Friday, April 18th through Monday, April 21st for Spring Break. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 22nd. Cape Career and Technology Center (CTC) classes will NOT be in session from Thursday, April 17th through Tuesday, April 22nd for CTC Spring Break. CTC students will need to sign out when leaving and entering the building for their CHS morning and afternoon classes.
CONGRATULATIONS CHS PROM KING AND QUEEN -- The 2025 CHS Prom Queen and King are Paige Wilhite and Connor Berry. Congratulations to them both!
CONGRATULATIONS CARLYANNE COSSOU FOR BREAKING THE SCHOOL RECORD IN THE 400 METERS -- Carlyanne Cossou broke the 400 Meter School Record at the Cape Central Invite on April 12, 2025. Running the event for the 1st time this season, she dominated the field placing 1st with a winning time of 58.52. The previous record, set in 2003 by Jennifer (Vandeven) Lynn, was 1:01. Carlyanne adds her name to the record board for the 4th time (100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles, and high jump). Congratulations Carlyanne!

STUDENT COUNCIL - EGG MY YARD FOR EASTER (Order Deadline April 12 / Eggs delivered April 19) -- Leave the work to the Chaffee Student Council! Your kids will wake up to a yard full of hidden eggs filled with candy and prizes. Eggs will be delivered on the night of Saturday, April 19, 2025. Order Deadline: Saturday, April 12, 2025.
