NATIONAL CUSTODIAN APPRECIATION DAY -- October 2nd is National Custodian Appreciation Day. This is a day in which we recognize and show appreciation to our custodians, assistant custodians, and maintenance staff who work tirelessly each day to ensure the smooth operation of our school buildings. MARK YOUR CALENDARS -- MOGUL HALLOWEEN DANCE IS OCTOBER 11! The CHS Mogul Halloween Dance is approaching scarily fast! Get your date and make plans to attend! The CHS Mogul Dance will be held on Saturday, October 11th, from 7:00 -10:00 p.m. in the High School Activity Center. Cost is $3 per person or $5 per couple. Concessions available for purchase. There will be a photo booth. Professional photos will be available for $5 per photo. Dance is semi formal! No sweats allowed! NO COSTUMES! Coronation of Mogul Prince and Princess and Mogul King and Queen will begin at 8:30 p.m. If you plan to bring an out of school date, you must get an out of school date form. Forms are available outside of the office and are due by Wednesday, October 8th. We can't wait to see you there for a spooktacular evening! CHAFFEE COMMUNITY CARE PORTAL FALL CARNIVAL ON OCTOBER 4TH -- The Chaffee Community Care Portal will be hosting a Fall Carnival on Saturday, October 4th, at Frisco Park from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. This is organized by the Chaffee Community Care Portal with help from local and school organizations. There will be Carnival Games, Cake Walk, Hayride, and other activities. $1.00 tickets sold at the event. There will also be Chaffee Farmers Market vendors and Concessions available for purchase. Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt – There will be 5 pumpkins hidden in town each day from September 29-October 3. Redeem a pumpkin for a prize at the carnival. Limit one per child.

Congratulations CHS Mogul! The CHS Mogul crew went to J-Day at Southeast Missouri State University on September 26. They attended workshops and learned new skills to improve the yearbook. Several photos and yearbook spreads were entered into competition, and the CHS Mogul staff took home 5 trophies! SPIRIT WEEK FALL FRENZY EVENTS ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH ARE POSTPONED!!
After much consideration it has been decided to postpone tonight's (Wednesday, September 24th) events due to weather.
The Chili Cook-Off will be moved to Thursday night (September 25th) at 5:30 p.m. on the football parking lot. We have a JH football game against Scott City Thursday night that starts at 5:30 p.m. so it will be a great time have the Chili Cook-Off.
The Powder Puff game between the junior and senior girls and the Senior Moms Tackle will be postponed until a later date. We will share that date as soon as it is rescheduled.

LADY DEVILS SOFTBALL GAME CANCELLED TODAY (9/23/25) -- The Lady Devils Softball game at Naylor has been cancelled today (Tuesday, September 23) because of rain.

FCA SEE YOU AT THE POLE (SEPTEMBER 24) -- FCA See You at the Pole will take place on Wednesday, September 24th, at 7:30 am. Please join us at the flagpole in front of the school to pray for our families, our school, our community, and our nation. Students have been praying at the pole since 1990.

REMINDER -- HIGH SCHOOL BETA MEETING (GRADES 9-12) ON SEPTEMBER 23 -- There will be a High School BETA members parent information meeting for grades 9-12 on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 6:30 p.m. at the high school in Mr. Seabaugh’s room.

CHS FALL FRENZY SPIRIT WEEK PARADE ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 -- The CHS Fall Frenzy Spirit Week Parade is at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th. The parade will start at the high school football parking lot and travel down Yoakum to Main Street and then Main Street to Dame Street. It will end at Chaffee Head Start DAEOC building. This event will highlight all our fall sports teams, clubs, and Mogul candidates. We invite all fall sports, clubs, local businesses, etc. to be in our parade. Please contact Mrs. Swinford if you are interested.

CHS FALL FRENZY SPIRIT WEEK DRESS UP DAYS AT JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL – CHS Student Council is hosting Fall Frenzy Spirit Week which will take place September 22nd - 27th! There will be several events throughout the week for students and the community. Students will get to dress up daily to show their school spirit! Students and staff are encouraged to dress up each day in the following themes: Monday, September 22: "Step Right Up" Jersey Addition. Dress in your favorite jersey. Tuesday, September 23: Twin Acrobat Tuesday. Dress as a famous duo or match a friend or friends. Wednesday, September 24: Wild Animal Wednesday. Dress as your favorite wild animal or in your animal print. Thursday, September 25: Crazy Red and Black Day. Show your school spirit and dress in crazy red and black. Friday, September 26: No School.

FBLA BLOOD DRIVE (SEPTEMBER 22) -- FBLA is sponsoring a Blood Drive on Monday, September 22, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. in the High School Activity Center. Students who are interested in giving blood should see Mr. Westrich. The community can visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to schedule an appointment or just walk in if appointments are available. All units collected will help to save lives and also help Chaffee High School students earn scholarships.
